The Code Type Setup is used to setup your Vehicle Body types, Vehicle options, OPEA codes, Warranty codes, Price Update Discount code, Stock Order Discount code, Prospecting Source and Prospecting Result.

Code - A unique code that represents the code type.

Type - Choose from the different types of codes. They are: Body Types, Vehicle Options, OPEA Codes, Warranty Plan Types, Price Update Discount Code, Stock Order Discount Code, Prospecting Result and Prospecting Source.

Description - Description of types

Disabled - Ticking the disabled box corresponding to the code will remove the code type for selection.

You must exit out of Autosoft and log back in once a new code type has been added.

Types can be any of the Following:

Body Types

Used in the Vehicle Master File / or Vehicle Inventory File. All Vehicles must have a body type. The system default is Sedan.

To add a new Body Type, click on the next available blank line.  Type in a Body Type code.  Under the Type column, click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select Body Types. Press Tab and type in the Description.

Vehicle Options (Vehicle Module Use Only) 

To add a new Vehicle option, click on the next available blank line.  Type in a Vehicle Option code.  Under the Type column, click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select Vehicle Options. Press Tab and type in the Description.

The Option Codes are now available to be added in the Vehicle Inventory File under the Options tab.

Click on the next available blank line, under the Option Code column. Click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select the Option. Tab to the next line.

The Vehicle Option Codes appear on the Vehicle Information Sheet.

OPEA Codes

Used to setup OPEA price updates. To add a new OPEA code, click on the next available blank line. Type in a Opea code.  Under the Type column, click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select OPEA Codes. Press Tab and type in the Description field the percentage discount. The OPEA Price update program will read these codes and apply the correct price changes.

Warranty Plan Types (Vehicle Module Use Only)

To add a new Warranty Plan Type, click on the next available blank line.  Type in a Warranty Plan Type code.  Under the Type column, click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select the Warranty Plan Type. Press Tab and type in the Description.

NOTE: Warranty Code can only be 1 character.

The Warranty Plan Types are now available to be added in the Vehicle Inventory File, under the Warranty tab.  Select the Plan Type by clicking on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select the Option. Type in the Plan Number, Expiry Date, Expiry KM, Amount Paid and any comments if required. Press F2 to Save.

Price Update Discount Code

Used to setup Discount Codes for price updates. To add a new Discount code, click on the next available blank line.  Type in a Vehicle Option code. Under the Type column, click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select Price Update Discount Codes. Press Tab and type in the Description field the percentage discount. The Price update program will read these codes and apply the correct price changes.

Stock Order Discount Code

Used to setup Stock Order Discount Codes for Stock Orders. To add a new Stock Order Discount code, click on the next available blank line.  Type in a Stock Order Discount code. Under the Type column, click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select Stock Order Discount Codes. Press Tab and type in the Description field the percentage discount.

When processing a Stock Order, in the click on the Printing/Options tab and change the Cost Price Type to Stock Order Cost to use the Stock Order Discount Price setup in the Code Type Setup program.

Prospecting Result

Used to setup Prospecting Result Codes for the Prospecting program. To add a new Prospecting Result Code, click on the next available blank line.  Type in a Prospecting Result Code. Under the Type column, click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select Prospecting Result.  Press Tab and type in the Description of the result.

Prospecting Source

Used to setup Prospecting Source Codes for the Prospecting program. To add a new Prospect Source Code, click on the next available blank line.  Type in a Prospect Source Code. Under the Type column, click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select Prospecting Source.  Press Tab and type in the Description of the source.

Prospecting Category

Used to setup Prospecting Category Codes for the Prospecting program. To add a new Prospect Category Code, click on the next available blank line.  Type in a Prospect Category Code. Under the Type column, click on the drop down arrow or press F4 and select Prospecting Category. Press Tab and type in the Description of the source.
